Happy Father's Day

Wow, the only word I can think of today is "blessed" when I think about the men in my life. My children have the most amazing father that I could ever have imagined for them, I have a dad who has never let me down and who is now a truly fantastic grandfather, and I have a grandfather who loves me so very much and has always made me feel special. What more could any one girl possibly ask for?

My kids truly adore their father. When he is here with us the mood in this house is 100x lighter and more joyful. THere is laughter and shrieking as they run and chase and tickle. They are constantly being told how smart, beautiful, fun, special and loved they are . . . and how very proud he is to be their daddy. When I go out I don't have to worry for a second because they are in their daddy's care. When I come home they are happy, well fed and worn out from lots of play.

I married such a wonderful man because that is the example I grew up with. It would never have occured to me to pick a man who would turn out to be a poor father because my dad was so amazing I just assumed that is how it always was. So subconsciously I picked a man with some very similar qualities to my own dad. I have so many great memories from times with my dad - our father/daughter ski trip when I was 16, working hard on my science fair projects, running together (and him cheering me on at my cross country meets), teaching me how to roller skate and ride my bike, walking me down the aisle . . . I could go on and on but I'm crying now which makes typing difficult.

I love you Dad. I love you Grandpa. I love you Ryan.
